The Study Tour to Peru was one of the highlights of the “From overconsumption to solidarity” project! 14 participants belonging to municipal authorities, national parliament, academia, media and civil society from Hungary, Czech R., Austria, Luxembourg, Germany, Slovakia, Denmark and Brazil visited for ten days different organisations and places in Peru.

For 10 days they traveled to Lima, the Andes and the Peruvian Amazon Rainforest meeting different stakeholders to analyze the social, economic and environmental impact of the extractive industries in Peru, those that support our overconsuming way of life in the so-called “developed world”. The delegation also visited Yanacocha, the 2nd largest gold mine in the world.
